The First Step

Jesus sacrificing his life both in how he lived it and how he was crucified modeled the behaviors that are essential to success. I am far from Jesus though he does heavily influence my life. I dont want to box myself in by feeling I have to present this polished and "arrived" me to the world because that is far from the case, yet I feel the lessons I have learned and embraced present what is unavoidable. Sacrifice is said to be better then obedience and I have adopted this as a mantra for my life.
Many times I have personally been driven by the sheer understanding that what I needed to do was more important then what I may have wanted to do. Even in my different decisions that I have made which seemed to only effect me, I realized that I impact the universe around me constantly. I have never been one to be dishonest with myself and I reflect often. I have realized that generally the times I have been most successful or benefitted the most, there was a great sacrifice made. Even in me beginning to blog, I am sacrificing selfish me and free time in order to avail myself or my thoughts to others.
The notion of putting oneself in the line of criticism and critique is enough for most people to become hermits, yet I embrace it, firmly believing the "end" will justify the "means." Each day I will share my thoughts and attempt to tie the threads together with a common theme, todays being sacrifice. Take a little time out to think about each great achievement you have made or been apart of in life and then think about the level of sacrifice that was made. This should allow you to realize the benefit of sacrifice and present you with the challenge of being in a constant sacrificial mode, so that the reward may be ensured.
